In Great Company’s recent coverage in local media

Apr 11, 2023

Recently, In Great Company has been receiving incredible interest from local TV news and radio shows.

In March, we received last-minute coverage on Channel 9 Gold Coast News. Our lovely volunteer Mel Woods and her engaging client Helen were interviewed by Channel 9 News while on their weekly catch-up in Sanctuary Cove. Our volunteer coordinator Brenda Tyack joined in to support them and enjoy the fun.

Mel chatted about her visits with Helen, including road trips to various places, with lots of conversation and of course – coffees! They gave us a glimpse into their beautiful friendship generously sprinkled with humour, laughter, and an infectious
sense of adventure.

To read more about Mel and Ann’s lifelong friendship, we featured them in a previous newsletter article which you can find here.

In Great Company live on the radio

A couple of local news stations found us on Facebook and reached out to us to find out more about our volunteer program and the services available to lonely seniors based in their communities.

Sue O’Toole, our volunteer voordinator for the Gold Coast, was interviewed on ABC Gold Coast morning radio by Sarah Cumming. You can hear her interview here.

Timmity Murray, our volunteer coordinator for Regional Victoria, was also approached for a radio interview while looking for volunteers for clients in the Grampians through Facebook. ABC Ballarat’s Steve Martin interviewed her on his morning radio show, and you
can hear all about it here.

In Great Company appreciates all the support from local media towards building awareness of our program for those in need and how to get involved.
