The In Great Company team would like to start by saying a huge thank you to our incredible volunteers!
It is safe to say that 2020 has been a year of change, challenges and connection. We know that levels of loneliness
and social isolation have increased as the COVID pandemic has restricted many people’s ability to get out and about, especially for seniors.
It wasn’t always easy to keep our connections going, but together we found a way. Through social distancing, the use of masks and diligent hand hygiene we were able to keep many of our visits going. For those who could not
be visited, we were lucky to have amazing volunteers taking time to write letters, emails and give phone calls to check in on people.
We are so grateful for your volunteering efforts over 2020 and appreciate your friendly visits and calls to seniors in our community, as well as sessions on Feros Care’s Virtual Social Centre. We know that the lives of many seniors have been deeply
touched through your volunteering efforts and for many, it has literally been the highlight of their week. It has not been easy, but with your help it was made that much easier for people who were isolated from friends and family, and
we hope that you are as proud as we are of the kindness and care you’ve shown to your community.
We hope that you have had a lovely festive season with your friends and families, we all earned a bit of joy! As we enter the new year, the team encourage you to reflect on your journey as a volunteer and Kindness Warrior, and look forward to another year of forming connections, strengthening existing ones, and making a difference in the lives of others.
Once again, thank you for all your efforts over 2020 and we look forward to your continued support in 2021!
