Role of the month: January

Each month, In Great Company highlights a role that could help make someone's life better – whether it's through community visits, regular phone calls, or working behind the scenes, we need you to ensure that everyone has someone to rely on.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to come on down and join the Bingo team at Tweed Head Bowls Club each fortnight on a Saturday.

This Feros Community Bingo event has been a highly successful community event that local seniors value, and the team would love the assistance of a few keen volunteers who can help them to keep the 'Bingo Lingo' alive!

Volunteers are sought to assist in the following roles:

  • Bingo caller - for this role you need to be quick, articulate, and accurate (these Bingo fanatics are speedy!)

  • Bingo assistant - watching the floor and checking/repeating numbers called if necessary for participants

  • Raffle ticket seller - selling raffle tickets on the day, a new raffle every fortnight

Benefits of volunteering in this role:

  • You get to be part of a treasured community event

  • Full training provided by the volunteer team

  • You get to be part of an amazing and innovative volunteer program which benefits the larger community

  • Act on your interests, passions and values

  • Make new friendships and create professional networks

  • Gain work experience and learn new skills

  • Enjoy new social and cultural experiences

  • Give back to the community and support our seniors socialising

  • Have fun!

If you're a bingo fan who wants to brighten the days of seniors, then apply today!

Volunteers are required to complete a National Police Check prior to commencing in your role. The In Great Company volunteer team will support you through this process.

Come on down and join in the Bingo Lingo today!
