Role of the month: April

Each month, In Great Company highlights a role that could help make someone's life better – whether it's through community visits, regular phone calls, or working behind the scenes, we need you to ensure that everyone has someone to rely on.

This month, we are highlighting two indispensable roles that would help the In Great Company team in assisting with a lot of people during these times of uncertainty. So, without further ado, here they are.

Role 1: Residential Kindness Host

Part of the portfolio of In Great Company is an exciting new role which supports the work of the Feros Care residential villages of Wommin Bay, Bangalow and Byron Bay, the Residential Kindness Host.

This volunteer role particularly supports the COVID-19 response to visitors of residents, assisting with safety protocols, and asking visitors those vital screening questions prior to their visit.

It can also offer volunteers the opportunity to assist clients who perhaps have family and friends unable to visit, to call or Skype and remain connected to their community.

So come on down and join in the residential kindness movement, and get in touch if you can:

  • Support the residential team to provide access to families in one of the three Feros Care Residential Villages; Wommin Bay, Byron Bay and Bangalow

  • Assist in manning entrances and assessing visitors to the sites

  • Ensure visitors follow hygiene protocols; e.g. use of sanitiser

  • Ask screening questions and complete a questionnaire with visitors prior to entering the facilities

  • Assist residents to call or Skype family members from their rooms

  • Bring your best positive and engaging self, to lift the spirits of those visiting, and offer reassurance

Role 2: Outbound Team Admin Volunteer

The Outbound Team Admin Volunteer role supports the work of the Outbound Team at Feros Care.

This volunteer role particularly supports the Outbound Team by providing much needed admin support with the preparation of communication documents for sending out in the mail to our clients regarding COVID-19.

It will also offer volunteers the opportunity to be part of an amazing response to this uncertain time for many, by being part of something big in volunteering with Feros Care and creating great memories and supports for our clients. A true volunteer warrior role.

So come on down and join in the kindness movement, and get in touch if you can:

  • Help to create information packs about COVID-19
