Keeping well at home during COVID-19

Sep 24, 2020

Learn how to support the mental and physical wellbeing of older people living at home during COVID-19.

COVID-19 has presented significant challenges for older Australians, as well as their families and carers. The current restrictions have been implemented to keep everyone safe – especially older people – but can result in social isolation
and limited access to services. Although the current restrictions are essential to minimise the spread of COVID-19, they may have a significant impact on an older person’s physical and mental wellbeing.

It’s important that older people living at home continue to look after themselves during this time. This means not only taking care of their physical and mental health, but also remembering to stay active and eat well while experiencing more
time alone.

In this webinar, a panel of experts will discuss the challenges currently faced by older people living at home during COVID-19, and the best ways to address social isolation and limited access to services. The experts will also provide some helpful
tips on how older people can stay well during COVID-19 to help them maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.

We encourage older people, and their families, carers and representatives, to view this webinar. We also encourage volunteers to learn more about maintaining the wellbeing of older people living at home during COVID-19.
