Exciting virtual host opportunities

Sep 24, 2020

The Virtual Social Centre is an online platform that fosters connections between seniors through a range of different programs from book clubs, exercise sessions, drawing, cooking etc. You can find out more about the program by clicking here.

We have several exciting opportunities for volunteers to host sessions. If you are interested in any of the topics below, please get in touch with the VSC team on [email protected]

We are also happy to explore other possibilities with you. Our thriving VSC community look forward to welcoming you to the virtual world of connections!

Running your own sessions on the Virtual Social is exciting and fun. You can do this from the comfort of your own home as long as you have a tablet, computer, or laptop with internet, headphones, microphones, and speakers  – we also have afterhour sessions from 5pm to 7 pm weekdays and all weekends.

Other considerations include:

  • We are always looking out for a diverse range of sessions and are happy for you to come up with some ideas
  • You will have to be comfortable facilitating interactive sessions
  • Commitment for a minimum of 45 minutes weekly any day of the week including after hours or weekend is fine!
  • Able to do some basic troubleshooting during the sessions like encouraging participants to refresh screen, mute, etc. We will provide training and resources to you.

Are you wanting to give back to the community and make a difference to our clients’ lives? Why not host a session on our Virtual Social Centre? Connect and spread joy in our thriving, exciting online community in any of the ways below.
