Miss having a yarn with your grandparents? Learn from those wiser, and volunteer to visit the young at heart. No doubt you’ll develop a soft spot for adorable seniors and be able to simultaneously brighten their day!
We’re looking for volunteers to visit our residential villages at Byron Bay, NSW to help keep seniors socially connected and live bolder lives!
The role:
- Laugh, chat and give purpose to someone’s life through fun, friendly social visits, or if comfortable, providing reliable and safe transport out of the village for day trips and appointments.
- Share your interests and hobbies, be it cards, crafting, or cooking, and make a difference in someone’s life!

What to bring:
- Demonstrated ability to provide a client-focused service
- Be compassionate, patient, observant, and a good listener
- Be willing to undergo a free national police check
- Open to getting the flu and Covid vaccinations, and provide valid evidence

For brownie points:
- Have a current unrestricted Driver's Licence and a registered insured vehicle
- Be a safe and confident driver with a good driving history
- Previous experience driving a minibus
- Barista training

Time commitment:
- Our recommended time commitment is flexible over a minimum of 3+ months.

In Great Company is a volunteer program designed to connect seniors in need of social connection and support with caring, friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers. This program was born out of a need for a service that creates a real difference in the lives of people and those volunteering their time to give back.
